Axel, Regimental #8774

Retired PSD Axel joins Ned’s Wish from the Ontario Provincial Police, where he served as a Drug Detection dog in the North Bay area. Axel retired in 2018.

Axel’s nose deserves some praise because during his accomplished career, Axel detected and then assisted in numerous drug seizures in schools.  Axel was also adept at “free air” searches and detected a lot of drugs hidden in cars.

Axel loves to swim. He continuously sticks his head under water to grab sticks or rocks.  When someone new comes to the house, he will constantly bring them a ball to throw Retrievers love to retrieve!  Axel plays hard, but it catches up with him when he needs a full day to recover from exuberant activity.  We are glad to have you among us Axel! Welcome to Ned’s Wish.

Tribute for Axel

We are heart broken to announce the loss of recently registered Ned’s Wish Hero, PSD Axel. Axel came to Ned’s Wish from the Ontario Provincial Police, where he served as a Drug Detection dog in the North Bay area. Axel retired in 2018 and just passed over the rainbow bridge on November 27, 2022. Axel had an accomplished career, detecting illegal drugs and then assisting in numerous drug seizures in schools. In his retirement, Axel loved to swim and duck his head under water to grab sticks or rocks, and of course, he loved to retrieve balls. Rest in Peace
