Aztec, Regimental #823

PSD Aztec was born on February 11, 2008 in Innisfail, Alberta. He worked with the RCMP for the entirety of his career in the Lower Mainland in British Columbia and St.Paul, Alberta, up until his retirement in 2016.

Aztec had a reputation for being a “serious” dog during his time in the Lower Mainland. He was easy to spot due to having a docked tail! He had a very fulfilling career with many accomplishments such as: tracking and catching two murder suspects and searching venues for explosives, while keeping spectators and athletes safe at the Vancouver 2010 Olympics.

Although Aztec had a reputation for being a “serious” dog with people, he is great with other dogs. He has even been chased by a little Pomeranian! Sharing isn’t necessarily his strong suit though, especially if it’s a toy that he loves! Since retirement, he has been enjoying life with his handler Cpl. Ternan and his new PSD. Aztec absolutely loves swimming and could easily go
at it for hours if given the opportunity!
