Fonz, Regimental #974

Fonz, Regimental #974

The iconic character Fonz from the classic 1970s and 80s TV sitcom “Happy Days” was one cool dude. And his namesake PSD Fonz is every bit as cool, or as the original Fonz would have said when asked for confirmation, “Correctamundo”!!

Fonz was born at the RCMP’s Innisfail kennels on April 12th, 2013. He was part of the Integrated Police Dog Service in the Lower Mainland. Fonz was partnered with two different RCMP handlers during his career. He usually worked the areas of New Westminster, Burnaby and North Vancouver. On his last-ever call on his last shift, Fonz tracked, located and apprehended two suspects who were responsible for a carjacking at gunpoint as well as several previous “break and enters” to people’s residences.

Fonz has always found ways to amuse himself. If there’s no one around to do it for him he just rolls around on the grass throwing his own ball into the air. Now that is initiative!!
When he hangs out on the dock at the lake he won’t bark at ducks or people that pass by, but watch out when a small wave approaches, that is an entirely different story!!

Welcome to the pack Fonz!
