PSD Racer was born on May 19, 2005 in Innisfail, Alberta. He worked his entire career with the RCMP and stayed in the Lower Mainland for the whole duration. Throughout his career, Racer caught a large number of criminals. He was known for his tracking skills! One time he tracked and apprehended a suspect who had just committed murder. The suspect then attempted to murder Police Officers while fleeing on foot with a handgun. Racer retired on September 26, 2012 due to an injury that occurred on duty.
Racer could be quite a trickster. One time during a traffic stop, he locked his handler out of the truck while a traffic stop was being conducted on the side of the highway. A tow truck driver had to be called out to assist! Each time the tow truck driver tried to use the Slim Jim to unlock the door, Racer would get hold of it and pull it out of his hands. During this time, he proceeded to eat his handler’s lunch knowing that they couldn’t stop him!
Racer passed away in the summer of 2018 at 13.5 years old. He is missed by those who knew and loved him.
