Case was born on Jan. 23, 2010 at the Police Dog Services Training Centre in Innisfail, Alta. After training, he was posted to Fort McMurray and paired with Cpl. Don Graves.
Case was a tracking extraordinaire and no amount of snow or wilderness was ever able to deter him. He once tracked subjects for four hours through contaminated conditions to a large river that he immediately knew the subjects had crossed. Just as he thought, the subjects were hiding on the other side and were quickly arrested thanks to Case’s strong nose!
Case sometimes worked with the RCMP’s Emergency Response Team. One time a prolific gang member attempted to flee from the back of a property but Case wouldn’t have it. He chased him down and held him by the leg until his handler came and took the gang member into custody.
Today, Case lives in Courtenay, B.C. and he keeps the same close eye that he used to track suspects on his Kong, which he rarely lets out of his sight. Unfortunately Case has a reoccurring back injury and joint discomfort due to his many years of hard work.
