Fibi joins Ned’s Wish after an extraordinary 10-year career with the Calgary Police Service. Born in Slovakia, she journeyed to Canada to begin a distinguished career in law enforcement, and what a career it was!
Known among her unit for her larger-than-life personality, Fibi had a special talent for “redecorating” her office — toys, tugs, beds… nothing was safe from her enthusiastic renovations. Full of drive and determination, she is truly a force to be reckoned with. Stuffed toys beware: in Fibi’s world, dismemberment happens in record time! Despite her intensity on the job, she’s famously the strong, silent type, unless she’s in the middle of a power nap, when she isn’t shy about making her opinions heard.
One of the most memorable highlights of Fibi’s career was traveling to Paris, France with her handler to conduct advance security explosive sweeps for the 2024 Summer Olympics. There, she worked alongside 360 canine teams from around the globe, playing an important role in ensuring the safety and success of this world-class event.
After a decade of dedicated service, Fibi has officially retired to her furever home with a loving family. Of course, retirement doesn’t mean slowing down! She now keeps busy by carefully “inspecting” every delivery that arrives at the house to make sure it’s safe for her pawrents. She’s even taken on a part-time construction role with her dad, supervising and approving houses under construction.
When she’s off duty, Fibi devotes herself fully to her favorite pastimes: tug-of-war, Chuckit sessions, and generously sharing her love by sitting, snuggling, and sprawling across her pawrents whenever possible.
Fibi is embracing her well-earned retirement the only way she knows how — with energy, loyalty, and a whole lot of heart.
