Klutch, Regimental #3079

🐾 Welcome Retired PSD Klutch to Ned’s Wish! 🐾

Meet Klutch, the Belgian Malinois whose energy level could power a small city and whose vertical jumps could make an NBA player jealous. Born in Ontario and bred by Grass Roots K9, Klutch proudly served the Durham Regional Police Service for seven action-packed years — keeping the Region of Durham safe one track, chase, and leap at a time.

Klutch began his career as a General Service Police Dog, with some bonus training to work alongside tactical teams — because apparently, being lightning-fast, fearless, and made of pure muscle wasn’t impressive enough. Whether tracking missing people, locating evidence, or chasing down fleeing suspects, Klutch always brought his trademark intensity (and occasional chaos) to the scene.

During his career, Klutch pulled off some seriously heroic work. He tracked a suicidal man through dense forest, finding him in time to save his life. He sniffed out a loaded handgun that a suspect tried to ditch in the dark. And in one Hollywood-worthy pursuit, Klutch helped bring down two armed robbery suspects hiding inside a cow trough — because when Klutch’s nose says “they’re in there,” you listen. 🐄👮‍♂️

Off duty, Klutch was known for his pre-shift warmups — which involved six-foot vertical jumps in his kennel, just to remind everyone that gravity was optional for him. Now retired, he’s traded chasing suspects for chasing tennis balls and enjoying the quieter life in Newcastle, Ontario with his handler, D/Cst Wes King, and their family.

These days, Klutch’s biggest cases involve sniffing out hidden treats, securing the couch from intruders (like vacuum cleaners), and keeping his humans on their toes. Despite a few health quirks from years of service, Klutch remains happy, healthy, and full of heart.

Welcome to Ned’s Wish, PSD Klutch — a true hero, an elite athlete, and the definition of a good boy with serious vertical skills. 💙🐾
