PSD Knox was the standout of his litter in the RCMP breeding program in Innisfail, AB, in 2017. As one of the highest-scoring puppies in his class, he began his journey with his handler, Jason Gimmer, at just 8 weeks old. PSD Knox spent his entire law enforcement career with Integrated Police Dog Services (IPDS) in the Lower Mainland, BC.
Trained in explosives detection, PSD Knox excelled in all his profiles, including tracking, searching, obedience, agility, and criminal apprehension. His exceptional tracking skills allowed him to pick up a trail on hard surfaces, in sweltering heat, and even after significant time delays.
Knox played a crucial role in numerous arrests and investigations, whether locating suspects hiding in bushes or detecting dangerous substances like gunpowder and homemade explosives.
Known for his boundless energy, Knox had no low gear. Even after minor surgery, he couldn’t slow down, destroying a recovery cone every day for a week as he unknowingly ran into things at full speed while he was supposed to be resting. Always an overachiever, Knox celebrated his successes with gusto. When he earned his reward during training, he wasn’t content to just play with the toy; he also rejoiced with a little leg hump with his handler!
After so many years of dedicated, hard-working service, we expect he will perform above expectations at retirement as well.
Welcome to the family Knox!
